MEET YOUR ATTORNEY

Attorney John W. Ghezzi

John Ghezzi has spent more than thirty years representing people in Texas courtrooms. A personal injury trial lawyer based in Magnolia, Texas, he represents accident victims and their families in Magnolia, Montgomery County, and the surrounding communities – in car and truck wrecks, motorcycle collisions, products and defective drug liability, medical malpractice, dangerous premises cases, dog attacks, and wrongful death matters.

Since founding The Ghezzi Law Firm in 2007, John has dedicated his practice exclusively to personal injury. With deep roots in Montgomery County courts and over three decades of trial experience, he fights aggressively for accident victims – from car wrecks and 18-wheeler collisions to wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, and medical malpractice. When you hire the firm, you work directly with John – not a case manager, not a call center. When you call, you talk to your lawyer.

John’s path to representing injured people ran through the other side of the courtroom. He spent his early career at major defense firms, including Baker & Hostetler in Houston, defending product manufacturers and corporations in complex injury, products liability, and toxic tort litigation – and later handled trucking accident, oil field, and maritime injury cases along with the insurance coverage disputes that decide how those cases actually get paid.

As a senior attorney, he managed all pleadings, discovery, expert depositions, and trial preparation across two hundred pharmaceutical products liability cases at once. That background means John knows, from the inside, how insurance companies and defense firms evaluate a claim, what they pay to avoid trying, and where they cut corners – and he puts that knowledge to work for his clients.

John also brings something few personal injury lawyers offer: deep Texas probate experience, including heirship proceedings, estate administration, and will contests. In wrongful death and survival cases – where the recovery runs through the decedent’s estate and heirs must be legally determined – most injury firms have to bring in outside probate counsel. John handles both sides of those cases under one roof.

He began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Federico A. Moreno, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida, and has been trying cases ever since – including his first three jury trials as a student public defender before he ever graduated law school.

PERSONAL NOTE

John and his wife have been married for thirty years and have raised their family in Montgomery County, where John has practiced law, been an Assistant Scoutmaster and Committee Chair for Troop 204, currently serves on the Board of the Texas Autism Academy, and has served the local bar and business community for nearly three decades. He speaks conversational Spanish and French.
